YOUNGER TODDLERS - WALKERS TO 2 YEARS

At Rhythm Express we encourage our younger children to:

	listen attentively
	be more aware of their bodies and to improve their physical co-ordination
	experiment with percussion instruments
	play along with group singing

For children under 2 we have lap songs, simple action songs and circle songs on the week's theme and we introduce simple musical concepts such as loud/soft and fast/slow.  We use a mix of pre-recorded CDs, live music and unaccompanied singing and use props, puppets and instruments suitable for this age group to add a visual element to the classes.  Adult participation is vital for the under 2s, so everyone is encouraged to join in.
