OLDER TODDLERS - 2 TO 4 YEARS

As the children get older and more able, we expand on the themes discovered by the younger age group and increase the range of untuned percussion instruments available.  We also introduce more musical concepts, such as high/low (pitch), beat and rhythm.  At this point we encourage our children to: 

	keep a steady beat with body movement, voice and percussion instruments
	echo simple rhythmic patterns
	move expressively to sound and music
	use their singing voice and match it to a given pitch

Help from the parent or carer is still encouraged but the children are now able to join in most activities by themselves.
